BRIAN OAKS

Well, here goes. I was born here in Seattle. Went to school here, married here, had kids here, fight traffic here. I think getting to a place where I can play full time and slow down a little is looking quite nice.

Ever since I can remember, I always just wanted to play guitar. After high school I intended to go to Nashville to attend Belmont, but wound up with a biology degree from Seattle Pacific University. Go figure. I had since a young age been into the session players more than the “so called guitar heroes.” I was always impressed with guys that could go from rock, to pop, to country all in the same day. I still am. It is most of those guys that still inspire me today to do what I do better.

Enthusiast sums it up pretty good. I love guitars and guitar things (see gear section and you will see). I love the sound when you plug a old Fender or Gretsch into a cool old amp. There is just something about this that makes me feel something that I do not get from most things. I think a lot of guitar players would say the same thing. I have played for and worked with such people as Rich Mullins, Jill Phillips, Scott Krippayne, Brian Moss and Megan Munroe to name a few. I have produced some pretty good stuff , but my best is yet to come I think.

I would like to be known as the guy that has cool sounds, good parts, and likes to hang out at a good pub with good people.
